Sippy Says
Scene: Sidewalk. Sippy and Mommy are walking home from school.
[Enter woman only slightly older than Mommy stage behind-them-on-the-sidewalk.]
Sippy: Who’s that Mommy?
Mommy: I don’t know.
Sippy. She’s a GrandMa.
Mommy: She’s a lady.
Sippy [LOUDLY] [EMPHATICALLY] No. She’s a GrandMa!
[Lady hussles by.]
Sippy: [DEFINITIVELY] She’s a GrandMa.
[Mommy hides her head. Lady pretends she cannot hear. Sippy happily runs down the sidewalk.]
End scene.

Mama Camera Love
One of the things about being a Mama with a Camera is that you don’t get in front of the camera yourself. Most of the time this feels like not such a bad thing but occasionally I worry that Sippy will look back and say “what did you look like then Mommy?”
For this reason I present to you Study in Wireless Remote – my first attempt at using my Christmas present to encourage me to get in more pictures. These ones are just me but hopefully as Sippy gets older (and better able to control her impulse to storm the camera) we can play with self-pics together.
Love, Mama
Summer Vacay: East Coast Style
We decided to vacation early this year and tackle our biggest baby/toddler fear: the airplane! A six hour trip as Sippy’s first flight is madness, you say? Why yes it does seem kind of silly but we ended up at the airport nonetheless, ready for our cross country trip to New Hampshire (by way of Boston).
My phone and new fav Instagram were on hand to capture all of our vacation moments (since I was too lazy to pack the camera as ONE MORE THING in our luggage.) In case you didn’t catch them. Here’s a (kinda long) summary:
Fun and sleeping in airports and on planes:
At the beach in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, with Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop, ready to rock it:
Exploring the town with Mommy and Daddy:
Very excited about the arrival of Favorite Cuz and the super cool train set he brought along!
Pretty Portsmouth. And a night out for Mommy and Daddy!
The last of the beach time…
A rainy day, saying goodbye, happy/sleepy car ride then plane ride and an even happier reunion with the Pup.
We heart vacays. And our first plane ride was a success. Hooray for Sippy! (And Mommy and Daddy are now letting out one big sigh of relief…) Here’s to more fun trips to come.
